The election is over and the National Party has won.  Mr. John Key is our prime minister again for tenure of another 3 years.  I think the newly-elected Government will implement reforms in economy, labour laws, city council and Resource Management Act.  I also hope that the Government will proactively help those first-home buyers settle in a peaceful and harmonious country.

房產協會:必須儘快改革資源管理法 (Tackle RMA first: Property Council)

房產協會希望剛勝選的政府會優先處理資源管理法案的改革事宜。協會續稱這個改革方案必須能保證本地的建房業能有效地運行,其中供城市發展的土地資源量將是一個決策因素。其他的改革提議包括高效用的運輸網絡及天然災害的對策。

協會執行官表示,這個改革方案必須要為本國提供一個更穩定及更一致的遠景。改革的重點是本國需要一個更有效益的建房業,而且土地的供應能更有效地配合人口的變更及城市發展的需求。政府必須立刻行動,好讓本國人民更快受惠。

The Property Council wants the newly-elected Government to prioritise the Resource Management Act reforms.  It said the reforms must include provisions to ensure the effective functioning of the built environment, including the availability of land for urban expansion and development, are appropriately factored into decision making processes.  Other changes should allow for the e3fficient provision of infrastructure and methods to deal with the impacts of natural hazards.

Chief executive Connal Townsend said the reforms needed to provide more consistency and certainty across the country.  “The effective functioning of the built environment and the availability of land to support changes in population and urban development demand are at the heart of these reforms and to progress.  With a clear mandate, the Government should now press forward with these changes so the country can reap the benefits sooner.”
